In our Dubai to Edinburgh: SFX release highlights webinar, Matt Brown and Rob Hatch showcased the highlights of the Edinburgh and Dubai releases in Skuid SFX — our deployment in Salesforce as a managed package. These releases include several new features and improvements that enable users to easily build customized and scalable applications. Let’s look at the key highlights of these releases.
ICYMI: Dubai release
Skuid's Dubai release, which was released last year, was designed to address some of the most common challenges faced by users when building apps.
New data entry mode for tables
The Dubai release focused on improving data entry by making it easier for users to enter and edit data. The new data entry mode allows users to use the tab key to navigate between fields, and they no longer need to hit "Enter" to edit a field.
Carousels
This release also includes a new component to organize the contents of your page in carousels, where users can click through multiple slides of images or other content. These can be configured manually in the Skuid page or can be driven by a data model.
Complex forms
We have been increasingly asked at Skuid to build complex forms. We've improved Skuid so it's easy to break up long forms into multiple steps — all while giving the user a clear understanding of where they are in the process, using our navigation controls and showing them how much they have completed, using conditional styling tools.
Edinburgh release: key highlights
Building on the success of the Dubai release, Skuid's Edinburgh release adds even more features and improvements to the platform. Some of the key highlights of the Edinburgh release include:
Client-side form validation
The Edinburgh release includes client-side form validation, which allows users to surface errors and requirements before the form is saved. This feature enables users to define custom criteria on top of what's already server-side, making it easier to catch errors early in the process.
Calendar enhancements
The new release includes enhancements to the calendar component, allowing users to group events by room, resource, location, team, and more. This feature makes it easy for users to view and manage their events.
Making composer easy
We always look to make the composer more intuitive. With this release, we've made it easier to work back and forth between a page and the design system that provides its styling properties. We've also made it easier to configure margin on all components.
Empowering users to build customized and scalable apps with ease
The Edinburgh and Dubai releases are a significant update to the Skuid platform, featuring several new features and improvements that enable users to build customized and scalable applications quickly and easily.
